Dubai International Airport Wins Prestigious Award

The UK's Baltic Air Charter Association (BACA) has awarded Dubai International Airport with an accolade for its air charter services.

Its first dedication Excellence Awards were given to companies who have delivered outstanding services to their specialist sectors.

The winners were announced last week at BACA's spring luncheon in London, with the capital's Town Crier, Peter Moor, leading the roll of honour.

The event was attended by over 170 industry guests and voted for by BACA members by post or online.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Department of Civil Aviation and chairman of Emirates, commented: "We are proud of the recognition that we have achieved.

"Dubai International Airport has long been recognized as a premier airport in the world in different categories."

Since 2000, Dubai International Airport has recorded a 32 per cent increase in charter flight movements from 4,000 to 12,441 in 2005.
