Dubai Visitors Ready to Rock
People staying in cheap hotels in Dubai should come prepared to rock as the emirate hosts the Dubai Desert Rock Festival on March 7th and 8th.
This year represents the first time that the event, which is held at the Al Sahra desert resort, will span two days.
Ten international bands will appear on the line-up this year, including popular US group Korn and Velvet Revolver, the new band of former Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash.
The Dubai Desert Rock Festival originated in 2004 when organisers set themselves the goal of bringing a fully-fledged rock music event to the Middle East.
In 2005 the festival developed into a full day event and featured a number of well-known bands from around the world on the bill, including UK group The Darkness.
There are a number of attractions around the festival other than the music, including 'rock hair' designers, temporary airbrush tattoo artists, graffiti boards and vendors of various music-themed paraphernalia.
