New Amusement Park to Be Built in Dubai
A new theme park is set to be built in Dubai following an agreement between US theme park operator Six Flags and a company owner by the ruler of Dubai, according to reports.
A stay in a cheap hotel in Dubai could go hand-in-hand with a trip to the new theme park if the move by Six Flags and Tatweer, a unit of Dubai Holding, results in the building of the proposed five million sq ft park.
"Expanding Six Flags beyond our current North American borders validates the growing strength and momentum of our brand," Six Flags president Mark Shapiro said.
The new amusement park would form part of Dubailand, where a leisure strip is currently being developed including everything from a dinosaur theme park in association with the National History Museum to Tiger Woods Dubai.
Six Flags currently has an interest in 21 theme parks across North America, with 30 million guests spending a total of 250 million hours at the parks, according to the company.
