A Portrait of Style

A portrait of style London will be hosting an exhibition of some of the most striking and iconic photographic images of the 20th and 21st centuries this year.

Between February 14th and May 26th, people staying in cheap hotels in London will be able to explore the Vanity Fair Portraits show at the National Portrait Gallery.

The illustrious American magazine has developed a reputation as one of the foremost promoters of portrait photography and images spanning almost 100 years, from 1913 to the present day, will be included in the exhibition.

London's National Portrait Gallery was granted full access to Vanity Fair's archives for this show and put together a selection of 150 images.

Among them are shots of silver screen legends, including Greta Garbo and Gloria Swanson, and previously unseen pictures of author Virginia Woolf taken in 1924.

The exhibition will also incorporate 22 images by acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz, who has captured shots of Miles Davis, Kate Winslet and Queen Elizabeth II, among others.
