Birmingham Hippodrome Presents Quadrophenia

Birmingham Hippodrome presents Quadrophenia A stage version of the famous rock opera and film Quadrophenia will come to the Birmingham Hippodrome later this year.

Offering an exploration of life in London and Brighton during the Mod era of the 1960s, the show will have a short run at the venue from May 19th to 23rd.

Quadrophenia started life as a rock opera and double-album made by Mod legends The Who in 1973, which provided inspiration for the film of the same name released six years later.

It is based on the experiences of Jimmy, a hedonistic 60s teenager who doesn't care about anything except for looking good, listening to music and riding scooters with his Mod buddies.

People staying in cheap hotels in Birmingham may want to see the show if they are already fans of the film, which is something of a cult classic that helped launch the acting careers of Phil Daniels, Ray Winstone, Timothy Spall and others.

Comedy fans may also be interested in paying a visit to the Birmingham Hippodrome in May as it hosts a gig by the stand-up comic Ross Noble on the 24th.
