People who book a cheap hotel in Manchester might be interested in taking a trip to Derbyshire's most-loved stately home, Chatsworth House.
Chatsworth will reopen its doors after a £15 million refit, which includes a new gallery and exhibition celebrating the life of Georgiana, the Duchess of Devonshire, a woman made famous by Keira Knightley in the film The Duchess.
The exhibition will highlight the Duchess' taste for fashion as well as feature the famous Gainsborough portrait of her, hanging pride of place at the centre of the display. Visitors will also have the chance to see her collection of precious minerals.
Other priceless artefacts will also be displayed for the public, some of which for the first time. Treasures include the Devonshire Parure, a seven-piece set of jewellery created for Countess Granville to the coronation of Tsar Alexander II and the Devonshire Tiara, made in 1893 for Duchess Louise.
Visitors to Chatsworth can travel from Manchester when the home re-opens on March 14th.
