People who book a cheap hotel in York might be interested in watching Spike Milligan's Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall at the Theatre Royal.
From March 16-20th, the tour will stop off in York for this critically acclaimed comedy, adapted by Ben Power and Tim Carroll from four military memoirs by the late Goon Show actor.
The story follows gunner Milligan with the jazz quartet that he created in 1940, who go on a journey through north Africa and Italy while historic events of Nazi invasion happen around them.
"Absurd and exuberant", the play shows the relationship between the comrades and their connection to the music.
Visitors to the show will get to enjoy jazz classics such as Ain't Misbehavin', In the Mood and Honeysuckle Rose.
Tourists to the city can also visit the nearby York Minster, the largest gothic cathedral in northern Europe, or take a backstage tour of the historic Theatre Royal.
