Book Cheap Hotels in York for Viking Experience

Book cheap hotels in York for Viking experience Customers who book a cheap hotel in York during the school half term will be in for a treat for all of the family as the city celebrates a very special birthday party.

The Jorvik Viking Centre, one of the city's most famous landmarks after the Minster, is 25 years old this year.

School children from all over the country have travelled to this interactive museum for a quarter of a century and to celebrate its anniversary, the city will host a multitude of events from February 13th until the 21st.

For the family, Vikings will descend on the city for bloody battles in the streets. There will be fireworks displays and an atmospheric candlelit evening of poetry and music performed for the Viking King.

Older visitors can enjoy the real science behind the museum, with a conference inviting international experts to explain why York's archeological Viking finds were so important to our history.

The museum will be open every day from 10:00 until 16:00, including its sister attractions DIG and Barley Hall.
