Bugsy Malone Cruises into York
York's Grand Opera House will play host to custard pies, splurge guns and lots of gangster-themed high jinks this summer when Bugsy Malone comes to town.
Theatre fans staying in cheap hotels in York can catch this show during its limited run from August 6th to 9th.
The tongue-in-cheek story features a number of exotic and charismatic young characters, from gangland rivals Fat Sam and Dandy Dan to Tallulah, Sam's sharp-tongued girlfriend.
Blousey Brown, who just wants to get to Hollywood to make it as a star, ends up caught in the middle of the action when she falls into bad company.
The responsibility falls to Bugsy Malone himself to step in and save the day.
Visitors to York will find the Grand Opera House on Cumberland Street.
Other shows to go on stage at the venue over the coming months include the Noughties Dance Show, Jungle Book and Return to the Forbidden Planet.
