Catch Barenboim Playing Beethoven in London
Classical music fans can look forward to a potential treat if they book a cheap hotel in London in February as pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim plays the works of Beethoven at the Southbank Centre.
Barenboim will play a complete Beethoven Sonata cycle at various dates in February to mark the re-opening of the Royal Festival Hall, the Southbank Centre's flagship venue.
The Argentina-born musical maestro has recently completed a period of work with the West-Eastern Divan orchestra, which intended to promote understanding between Israelis and Palestinians.
Next year's programme will not be the first time Barenboim has played at London's Royal Festival Hall, having staged previous renditions of work by Beethoven in 1998 and performed a number of Brahms pieces in 2003.
Other events to be held at the Southbank Centre in February include performances by the Soweto Gospel Choir and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Visitors to London can find the centre on the Thames riverside between Golden Jubilee and Waterloo bridges.
