Catch Some Jazz and Blues in Edinburgh

Thousands of music lovers are set to enjoy an array of styles from international artists at the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival this summer.

Running from July 25th to August 3rd, the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival promises to be another entertaining exhibition of jazz by some of the most talented musicians around.

Roger Spence, associate director, said: "This year's Jazz Festival is quintessentially Edinburgh. Plenty of new names. Plenty of familiar favourites. The jazz tradition celebrated. Plenty of spontaneity and creativity happening on the spot. And a host of events which different audiences will regard as very special."

Around 50,000 jazz enthusiasts and people staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh are expected to attend the festival with events held in concert halls, theatres, clubs, pubs, and the open air.

Band member and festival performer Mart Rodger said: "It's a tremendous festival, with a nice international feeling and people from all over the world. One thing about this Jazz Festival: every gig has got its own particular feeling for the music that is played here."

The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival is in its 30th year and is the longest running jazz festival in the UK.
