Celebrate a Scottish Tradition in Glasgow

Celebrate a Scottish tradition in Glasgow People staying in cheap hotels in Glasgow this August will be able to celebrate one of Scotland's most famous traditions at Piping Live 2008.

This event, which will take place from August 11th-17th, will feature performers and musicians from across the globe.

Every day of the festival the National Piping Centre will host the Street Cafe outside the building, which will give visitors the opportunity to relax with some food and drink and listen to a range of piping styles.

This venue will also host the Pipe Idol contest, which will see four of the world's best young pipers engaging in competition every day.

The grand final, where the new Pipe Idol 2008 will be unveiled, will take place on August 15th.

On August 12th the Glasgow Barrowlands will host the International Quartet Competition, which will see groups from across the world representing their countries.

St Laurence O'Toole from Eire will be attempting to retain their 2007 title against opposition from across the world.
