Celtic Cracker

Celtic Cracker Golf fans hoping to enjoy a major event on the European tour can head to Wales for the Welsh Open at Celtic Manor, held between May 31st and June 3rd, with ladies day on June 2nd, organisers have announced.

A number of big names in the sport can be expected at this major event, with 2006 winner and Ryder Cup star Robert Karlsson looking to defend his title against the likes of 2005 champion Miguel Angel Jiminez, not to mention other big-name past winners like Ian Poulter, Paul Lawrie and Paul McGinley.

Tickets for the event cost £25 per day, or £15 for those aged 60 or over, with season tickets priced £55 and £35 respectively.

Juniors under 16 are allowed in free if accompanied by an adult, organisers have announced.

Celtic Manor lies close to the south Wales town of Newport, a city since 2002, which has other attractions such as the castle, St Woolos' Cathedral and a the remnants of the Caerleon Roman Garrison.
