City Art Centre Presents Highlights
Edinburgh's City Art Centre is currently exhibiting the many highlights from its extensive collection.
The Art Centre has one of the best collections of Scottish art in the country, a fact that was recognised by the Scottish government in October 2007.
At the heart of the collection are a number of pieces from the Scottish Modern Arts Association, which were donated to the city in the early 1960s.
The exhibits that people staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh are currently able to see include views of the city, portraits of citizens and works by members of the Edinburgh School, including Gillies and Redpath.
This display of the outstanding pieces from the City Art Centre collection will be open until the end of December this year.
Visitors will have to be quick if they want to see the Art Centre's photographic portrait of China – featuring the work of some 250 photographers – which will come to an end on September 14th.
