Horse racing fans can enjoy one of the highlights of the year when the Vodafone Derby takes place at Epsom Downs on Saturday, June 2nd 2007.
Run since 1780, the Derby needs little introduction as one of the most enduring events on the British sporting calendar, with this year being no exception as thousands flock to Surrey to see the race.
The main event itself is the highlight of a weekend which begins on Friday June 1st, which is Ladies Day, a chance for ladies to don the smartest dresses and the most exotic hats while men come in collar, tie and, if feeling adventurous, a top hat.
Entry to the course starts at £13 for Ladies Day and £15 for Derby day, according to organisers, with each day offering seven races.
Visitors will find plenty of accommodation in the area, including cheap hotels, while the local Surrey downland offers excellent scenery for a bit of walking on a pleasant summer day.
