Customers 'should Be Provided Incentives to Book Holidays'

Customers 'should be provided incentives to book holidays' Incentives to boost visitor numbers should be offered to customers looking for cheap hotels in London and other destinations.

That is according to The Co-operative Travel, which said that Britons are more likely to consider mini-breaks if the destination appeals to them.

Incentives can include cheap flights to get to the holiday spot as well as offers and treats available to travellers once they reach their destination.

"If hoteliers are still in the mind set of room only or bed and breakfast, it needs to be two for one, third night free – that is the way forward for hoteliers to get the average room rate down," explained Alistair Rowland, director of distribution at The Co-operative Travel.

He added: "They need to incentivise the customers making the decision early."

The comments come after research from trivago found that hotels in Europe are cheaper by three per cent compared to last August.
