Dance Show to Be Staged in York
Travellers staying in cheap hotels in York in January will be able to visit the city's Grand Opera House as it hosts a dance double-bill.
The Nutcracker and Red Hot Shoes will be staged three times at the venue on January 15th and 16th, with a matinee showing on the second day.
Presented by the Red Shoes Dance Studio, the production begins with a performance of one of the most popular ballets ever created.
The Nutcracker takes the audience on a magical adventure in a fairytale land and features an enchanting score composed by Tchaikovsky.
Red Hot Shoes is described as "an explosion of musical theatre, tap and jazz dance".
It features a cast of 160 performers who present set pieces including a wizards' ball with trolls, live owls and ghosts.
Also coming to York's Grand Opera House next year is the tribute show The Spirit of Pink Floyd, which will be staged on February 4th.
