Discover a Fashion Icon in Edinburgh
Visitors to Edinburgh will be able to discover more about a British fashion icon at an exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland.
A show exploring the work of Jean Muir will open on November 7th and run until March 15th next year.
Muir was an important part of the British design revolution of the 1960s, with a look based on signature fabrics, colours and details as well as a precision cut and fit.
Her garments have been worn by such glamorous figures as Lauren Bacall, Diana Rigg, Barbra Streisand and Joanna Lumley.
The display presents a number of highlights from the museum's collection of Muir's work, including sketches, pattern pieces, a trial garment, fabric samples and 30 finished garments and accessories.
Visitors will be offered fascinating insights into Muir's design, manufacturing and marketing processes.
People staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh this month will be able to attend the Magnificent Machines exhibition at the National Museum of Flight on September 27th and 28th, which will look at everything from cars and motorbikes to monster trucks and fire engines.
