Discover New Cinema in Newcastle
Newcastle will play host to a festival this year celebrating some of the most unusual and innovative work in modern cinema.
The Northern Lights Film Festival will be held at a number of venues around the north-east city, including the Tyneside Cinema and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, from November 30th until December 6th.
In its mission to discover new and exciting films, this event focuses on work that hails from countries in northern Europe.
While this will continue to be the main remit of the festival this year, there will also be screenings of films from other parts of the world.
According to a statement on the event organisers' website, there are currently programmers "scouting the four corners of the world for the most groundbreaking and innovative work to bring back to the north-east for your viewing pleasure".
