Diwali to Bring Light to London

Diwali to bring light to London People staying in cheap hotels in London will be greeted by a host of lights and celebration if they happen to pay a visit to Trafalgar Square on October 19th.

On this date the famous London attraction will play host to Diwali, the Festival of Light that is of great significance to Hindus, Sikhs and Jains all over the world.

Communities throughout the English capital host parties to mark the occasion but the biggest gathering of all takes place in Trafalgar Square.

Some 30,000 people visited the celebration of Diwali last year and enjoyed music and dance performances, dazzling light shows and displays of floating lanterns.

Diwali is a festival of happiness and celebration, representing the victory of good over evil and observing themes related to the family, love, resolution and forgiveness.

Events are held all over the world to mark the occasion, particularly in Asian countries such as India and Nepal, but the use of different calendars means that the festival takes place at different times of the year.
