Edinburgh Boasts New Whisky Experience
Travellers hoping to learn about Scotland's national drink while staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh can now take part in a new tour at the capital's Scotch Whisky Experience.
The tour, which has been launched following a £3 million facelift of the attraction, includes a new barrel ride that takes visitors on a journey through the whisky-making process.
Tourists can also enjoy personalised whisky tastings and pay a visit to a new demonstration area that boasts impressive views over the city of Edinburgh.
Arguably the highlight of the new tour is the new purpose-built glass vault that was constructed to house the world's largest collection of Scotch whiskies, bringing together more than 3,300 varieties of the beverage.
Scotch Whisky Experience general manager Susan Morrison said: "This £3 million investment has created a 21st century experience for visitors that will inspire and enthuse them about Scotch whisky and its importance to Scotland.
"With everything from the sights, sounds and smells in the fantastic new barrel ride, to the stunning new sensory rooms and demonstration area, there is a modern, fresh feel to the whole visitor experience."
Once they have finished exploring the revamped Scotch Whisky Experience, visitors to Edinburgh can head back out onto the city's Royal Mile to take in sights such as Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Abbey.
