Edinburgh Celebrates All Things Chinese

Film buffs who have booked cheap hotels in Edinburgh over the next few weeks will benefit from a festival of Chinese cinema which is coming to the city.

From April 6th, visitors to the Scottish capital will be able to get involved with the celebrations which will see numerous screenings of movies made in China.

More than 25 films will be shown at the event named Cinema China, which saw huge success last year when the festival was first held.

A number of organisations have helped to organise the mammoth event including the University of Edinburgh, the Confucius Institute, Scottish Screen, the Scottish Executive, the Beijing Film Academy and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, tourists staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh can take advantage of a massive cash injection which is being awarded to fund festivals which are being held in the city.

The Scottish government has pledged £6 million to put towards festivals which are taking place over the next three years in a bid to promote home-grown talent.
