Edinburgh Celebrates Faces and Places
People staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh over the coming months will get the chance to learn about the people that contributed to making the city what it is today.
Faces and Places opened at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on April 24th and will run until July 20th.
The exhibition is being presented as part of a partnership between the gallery and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland to celebrate the latter's centenary this year.
It features a range of pieces relating to people who have contributed to Edinburgh's built heritage, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and notebooks.
Edinburgh's Portrait Gallery can be found on Queen Street in the heart of the city.
The establishment was reportedly the first purpose-built portrait gallery in the world and now includes pieces depicting Mary, Queen of Scots, the philosopher David Hume, Robert Burns and Sir Walter Scott.
