Edinburgh Home to One of First Missoni Hotels

It has been announced that Edinburgh will become home to one of one of the world's first Missoni hotels.

Styles from Milan's best-known fashion house are to arrive in Edinburgh's old town and the hotel is expected to be built near the top of the Royal Mile, reports the Scotsman.

Hotel Missoni will be located in the Bank of Scotland Bridge development on the High Street.

It is anticipated that the hotel will offer 130 rooms, a Bar Missoni, Missoni Cucina restaurant and a spa and fitness centre.

The Milan fashion house, which is famous for its colourful clothing sported by Rachel Stevens and Jennifer Lopez, also plans to open hotels in Kuwait and Dubai.

Last year, Missoni signed a deal with Rezidor SAS Hospitality to construct a chain of hotels "reflective of contemporary Italian life and style".

A number of other top fashion houses, including Giorgio Armani and Versace, have also reportedly signed similar hotel deals.
