Black Bo's is a cool place to hang out and start the evening. Located at 57 Blackfriars Street, this place has plenty of laid back music and a down beat atmosphere.
Live Music
If you are looking for some live music then try out Sandy Bells at 25 Forrest Road. This place is well liked by the locals, and features live folk sessions every evening. This small cosy bar gets very busy, but is well worth visiting not only for the music, but also the fine ales.
Late and lively
Pivo at 2 Carlton Road New Town is open from 1600-03.00 were Edinburgh's DJ's try out all there new skills.
Areas of Interest in Edinburgh
Lothian Road just to the West of the Castle is still were the well-heeled go. Here the concert-goers can rub shoulders with the football fans.
Marchmont is a firmly residential area, with rows of neat well-kept tenements. Those who are fans of Ian Rankin will know this area very well from the fictional detective Rebeus lived in this area.
Art Deco cinemas are alive and well in Edinburgh, the oldest and the best are Cameo in Tollcross and is certainly worth checking out.
Getting From Edinburgh Airport
Bus
The Airport operates a service, Airlink 100 that goes to Waverley Bridge in the city centre. This journey takes about 25 minutes. The buses operate every 10 minutes starting from 04.00 and run until 24.00. The cost of a ticket is 4.50 Euro for a single trip and 7.25 Euro for a return.
Car Rental
Most of the major car suppliers are represented in the arrival hall at Edinburgh Airport. Your car hire can be pre- booked by contacting Carhireworldwide to make a reservation.
Taxi
There is a Taxi stand outside the arrival hall and a taxi ride into the city centre will cost about 35 Euro's.
