Elbow to Play Gigs in Manchester

Mercury Music Prize-winning band Elbow will play a number of gigs in the UK and Europe over the coming months, including shows in Manchester.

The group will kick off their autumn tour in Cambridge on October 6th before heading to venues including the Roundhouse in London (October 11th-13th), the Glasgow Academy (October 19th) and the Sage Gateshead (October 20th).

Fans staying in cheap hotels in Manchester will see the band when they play shows at the Apollo on October 23rd and 30th.

The second gig will be Elbow's last concert in the UK before they head to Europe to visit cities including Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Utrecht and Brussels.

There is likely to be a surge in interest in Elbow over the coming weeks and months following their success in the 2008 Mercury Music Prize, which was held in London on September 9th.

The band, who beat artists including Radiohead and Estelle to the award, described it as "the best thing that's ever happened to us".
