Enjoy a Shout! in Newcastle
Newcastle's Theatre Royal will soon offer its visitors a theatrical experience that will be nostalgic for some and eye-opening for others.
Shout!, the musical tale of five young people embarking on a discovery of fashion, freedom, fun and music in 1960s London, will come to the theatre for a short run from November 17th to 22nd.
The performers in the show will include Su Pollard, the memorable former star of Hi-de-Hi!, and Claire Sweeney of Brookside fame.
They will bop, twist, shimmy and shake to top tunes by artists including Lulu, Petula Clark and Dusty Springfield, such as Son of a Preacher Man, Downtown and, of course, Shout.
This show comes from the producers of some smash-hit musicals, including The Wedding Singer, Fame, Saturday Night Fever and Footloose.
People staying in cheap hotels in Newcastle in December will be able to enjoy some pantomime entertainment at the Theatre Royal as it hosts Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates.
