Golf lovers who fancy spending some time playing the courses of the sport's homeland can do so in style by signing up for the Ayrshire Golf Classic, played over four different championship courses in the county.
Visitors can book all-in tours involving pricey hotels for well over £500, but a golf-only package comes in at only £375, enabling the visitor to save a bit of cash by staying in cheap hotels in the area.
Held from July 9th to the 12th 2007, the event enables competitors with handicaps below 18 for men or 27 for women to play 72 holes around the Barassie, Bogside, St Nicholas and Western Gailes.
Apart from the golf, visitors can enjoy some fine coastline in the county itself, with options for further leisure activities to the south in the Galloway Forest Park or seawards to islands such as Arran, known as Scotland in miniature for its varied and beautiful scenery.
