Experience a True Scottish Party on Burns Night

Experience a true Scottish party on Burns Night Anybody spending time in a hotel in Scotland in the new year may have the opportunity to take part in a proper Scottish knees-up as the country celebrates Burns Night on January 25th.

Burns Night parties can be found all over Scotland on this date and you can even hold your own, as long as you have some haggis and whisky and are willing to have a dance and recite some poetry.

And it is not only in Scotland that this celebration takes place on January 25th, as many people with Gaelic heritage or just fans of Burns' poetry all around the world see the date as an excuse to have a party.

So if you happen to be in Nova Scotia, New Zealand, Australia or the Caribbean, the chances are you'll find a whisky-fuelled shindig somewhere.

Robert Burns, who lived from 1759 to 1796, is a cultural icon in Scotland for his evocation of the country as a hospitable, honest and romantic place.

Among his most famous works is the song that has graced a million parties, Auld Lang Syne, and the simply titled Address to a Haggis.
