Experience Midsummer in Edinburgh
People staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh this autumn may fancy paying a visit to the city's Traverse Theatre to see Midsummer.
This show, which is described as "a play with songs" rather than a straightforward play or musical, will run from October 24th to November 15th.
The tale takes place on a rainy Midsummer's weekend in Edinburgh and features Bob, a failing car salesman, and Helena, a high-powered divorce lawyer.
While the pair may seem horribly mismatched, their lives become intertwined and they are caught up in a weekend of car chases, wedding bust-ups, midnight trysts and other intriguing adventures.
Midsummer features songs by David Greig, one of Scotland's leading playwrights, and Gordon McIntyre, the singer/songwriter in the Edinburgh band Ballboy.
The show will be followed by a number of other productions at the Traverse Theatre before the end of the year, including The Sin Eaters and OutWrite.
Visitors will find the theatre on Cambridge Street.
