Extended London Stay for Wicked
Theatre fans planning stays in cheap hotels in London will have plenty more opportunities to see hit West End musical Wicked after the show had its run extended.
According to the Official London Theatre Guide, Wicked is now taking bookings at the Apollo Victoria on Wilton Road until September 26th 2009.
The show first opened in the West End in September 2006 and has been seen by more than 1.5 million people.
Michael McCabe, Wicked's executive producer, said: "We have enjoyed an incredibly successful 2008 and business is up week-on-week from 2007 which is an extraordinary achievement.
"We are now delighted to be adding our sixth booking period and putting almost half a million (460,692) new tickets on sale."
Wicked is set in the fictional land of Oz, immortalised in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz, and tells the story of Elphaba and Galinda, a pair of young witches who meet and become friends at college.
Due to events outside their control, however, the former friends become enemies when they turn into the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North.
