Family Holidays 'becoming More Popular'
Travel industry leaders have witnessed a rise in the popularity of family holidays this year.
Kate Kenward, executive director at the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), said that although families have always enjoyed going on holiday together, this year more are planning to take a break with each other.
She explained that the recession was having little to no impact on holiday plans and advised people to consider what the entire family would enjoy when booking leave.
"Despite the recession families are still looking forward to and booking their holidays as they realise its impossible to put a price on the value of a relaxing break, whether overseas or in the UK," Ms Kenward said.
"Any country offering good value, family friendly facilities, and particularly self-catering accommodation, is going to be well received."
Recent research from HolidayExtras.com found that 42 per cent of Britons feel that the best thing about holidays is that they get to spend time with loved ones.
