Food Festival Kicks off in Glasgow

Holidaymakers staying in hotels in Glasgow this week will be able to take full advantage of a spectacular food festival being held throughout the city.

Gourmet Glasgow kicks off today and will see over 50 restaurants taking part – offering cheap deals and unique menus.

David Maguire, chief executive of Glasgow Restaurateurs Association, said: "Glasgow is a world leading destination and our restaurants reflect the city’s cosmopolitan offering.

"The image of deep fried mars bars is so far from what’s actually on offer and Gourmet Glasgow is one of the many ways we are helping to promote the city’s much more stylish restaurant offering."

A number of events will also be on offer to food fanatics heading to the Scottish city including a special shellfish evening at restaurant Gamba and a cookery demonstration at Catch 22.

Food fans in the city from October 31st to November 2nd will also be able to treat their taste buds at the BBC Good Food Show Scotland which is being held at the SECC.
