Forge Some Celtic Connections in Glasgow

Forge some Celtic connections in Glasgow Visitors to Glasgow will be offered an experience of the richness of Celtic culture at a festival to be held next year.

Celtic Connections, which is billed as Scotland's premier winter music festival, will take place at a number of venues around Glasgow from January 15th to February 1st.

The opening concert will take place at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and feature a number of top artists from the Canadian island of Cape Breton, which has long been a second home to many Scots.

Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall will be the venue for another highlight of Celtic Connections on January 24th when it presents a 12-hour celebration of Robert Burns songs.

People staying in cheap hotels in Glasgow will also be able to see Martha Wainwright during the festival when she performs at the Old Fruitmarket on January 27th.

Celtic Connections will not be all about live shows, however, as it will also screen music-inspired films including Bela Fleck's award-winning Throw Down Your Heart, which will be shown at the Royal Concert Hall on January 19th.
