French Film Lovers Unite

Lovers of French cinema will be able to celebrate their passion with like-minded people this year as the 16th French Film Festival takes place all over the UK.

People staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh will be able to visit the festival, which runs from March 7th to 20th, with other events being held in Glasgow, Dundee and London.

All areas of the medium will be covered by this festival, with attention given to new and emerging French filmmakers as well as recent mainstream movies that have emerged from the Gallic country.

Since 1992, when the event was founded, it has also screened classic pieces of French cinema and offered a themed selection of movies in a different category every year.

Francophiles looking forward to this event will be kept particularly busy if they choose to attend the Edinburgh show, as there will also be a themed photographic exhibition held in the city.

To coincide with the festival, the French Institute in Edinburgh will be holding a showcase of the work of Fabrizzio Maltese in March.
