Get a Spring in Your Step in Great Ouseburn

Visitors to York will be able to celebrate the onset of spring and the end of winter at the Great Ouseburn Spring Festival this year.

On April 20th, Great Ouseburn will turn into a hive of fun and activity, with a number of events taking place throughout the village.

One of the highlights for families staying in cheap hotels in York will be the scarecrow trail – with prizes for the winners – as well as the opportunity to explore the 12 open gardens around Great Ouseburn.

In the village church there will be plenty of blooms and blossoms on display as part of a flower festival, as well as live music provided by the Amici vocal group.

Other attractions range from new-born lambs at the local farm to a Yorkshire crafts fair, bouncy castle, home-cooked food and a raffle at the village hall.

One of only three of its kind in Europe, this engine will be available for exploration from May 2nd as part of China 2008 in York.
