Glasgow to Celebrate Last Night of the Proms

While the BBC Proms, and their last night in particular, may seem like a London-based event, people staying in cheap hotels in Glasgow will find that they can join in with the fun this year.

The Proms in the Park will see Glasgow Green host the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for the Last Night performances on September 13th.

This event promises to offer a celebration of the Last Night of the Proms in "true Scottish style".

Glasgow is not the only location outside London that will be involved in the celebrations on September 13th, with Belfast's City Hall and Swansea's Singleton Park also taking part.

London's Royal Albert Hall is undoubtedly the centre of the festivities, however, and this year it will host conductor Sir Roger Norrington for the first time.

Sir Roger will lead the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Chorus through renditions of Rule, Britannia, Jerusalem, the National Anthem and many other pieces of music.
