Going for Gold

Going for Gold Visitors to Devon this summer may find themselves on the Gold Coast if they turn up in the Croyde area between June 15th and 17th 2007.

No, Queensland's surf beaches will not have been magically transported across the world, but the Gold Coast Oceanfest will be hitting town, offering three days of surf and music, with bands from all over the south-west taking the stage.

Tickets can be bought in advance (early bird tickets), with a three-day adult pass costing £18, with £12 tickets for children and a family ticket for two adults and two under-18s costing £45, while the event starts at 10:00 each morning and ends at 23:00 on the first two days and 21:00 on the final day.

As well as the music, visitors staying in cheap hotels can enjoy a range of sporting events on the beach, which are all part of the festival.

Naturally, there is plenty of surfing, while beach football and beach volleyball are also highlights.
