While visitors staying in cheap hotels may wish to don or kilt for the day and enjoy the spectacle, there are plenty of other attractions in the Granite City.
Scotland's third largest city with a population of over 200,000, Aberdeen has a wealth of places to eat and good nightlife, while historic attractions include Provost Ross' House, which dates back to 1593 and the Gordon Highlander's Museum, detailing the heritage of the famous regiment.
