Hang Loose at the Edinburgh Fringe
Hundreds of shows will entertain the crowds at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August, it has been reported.
Nearly 300 venues will play host to an array of entertainment from comedy shows to theatre productions at the largest arts festival in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, which takes place from August 3rd to 25th.
Culture minister Linda Fabiani said: "The Edinburgh Festival Fringe continues to get bigger and better every year with over 2,000 diverse shows on offer this year."
With over 300 shows available for free last year, culture vultures can combine the low-cost festival with some cheap hotels in Edinburgh to avoid breaking the bank.
"As well as being a showcase for some of the best creative talent from Scotland and around the world, the Fringe, along with the other festivals, brings tremendous economic benefits to the Scottish economy. I look forward to enjoying a variety of performances over the summer," said Ms Fabiani.
According to the Fringe Festival website, an estimated 18,626 performers were on stage at the Fringe in 2007.
