Harp Festival Comes to Edinburgh
People staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh will have the opportunity to visit the 27th International Harp Festival this year.
This unique event takes place between March 28th and April 2nd on behalf of Commun na Clarsaich and its Harp Festival Committee.
Harp players will find more than enough to attract their interest at this event at Merchiston Castle School on the south-west side of Edinburgh, including expert tuition.
There will also be courses and workshops covering music of Gaelic, Scandinavian and Jewish origins.
It will not only be harp players who will be entertained by the festival, however, as it will include a number of poetry and story readings based on Scottish, Siberian and Norwegian folk tales.
Music enthusiasts will also be able to learn about advances in electro-acoustic genres, enjoy jazz from New York City or listen to traditional Scottish and Irish tunes.
The festival's Sunday evening concert will be a collaboration between world famous harpist Isabelle Moretti, the Edinburgh Quartet and trombone player John Kenny.
