Have Haggis with Hungry Highlanders
Food lovers will be able to indulge themselves in true Scottish style from late September to mid-October in the Highland Feast festival.
Running from September 28th to October 14th, the event sees a mixture of food-based events and entertainment taking place over a wide area of the wild north of Scotland.
Inverness, the largest city in the highlands, leads the way as the scene of many highlights of the period, with nearby Loch Ness enjoying a monster piece of the action as well.
Events listed in the festival include the Inverness Real Ale Festival from September 28th to 30th, the tartan monster breakfast at the Loch Ness Lodge Hotel and the monster meal at the Baxters Stadium in Inverness, which coincides with the Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running.
All this food and fun takes place amid some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain, offering plenty of outdoor activities such as mountain biking, climbing, sailing on lochs or the sea, plus of course a chance to visit a few distilleries.
