Hit London to See in the Year of the Rat

Hit London to see in the year of the rat The annual knees-up held to see in the Chinese New Year is one of the most spectacular celebrations that partygoers can experience, particularly if they decide to mark the occasion in London.

In 2008 the Chinese New Year celebrations, which will see in the year of the rat, will be celebrated on February 10th.

Revellers who book their cheap hotels in London in a central location will be able to visit a number of places in the city that will be partying the night away, but one of the best spots, as the name would suggest, is Chinatown.

All sorts of shows and shindigs are held to mark the onset of the New Year, with partygoers donning dragon costumes and adorning streets, houses, shops and restaurants with traditional Chinese decorations.

One of the main motivations of the festival is to celebrate luck and prosperity, but with so much good-will and happy spirit floating around, revellers won't need much luck to ensure they have a good time.

London's main Chinatown district is located in the Soho area of the borough of Westminster. The very first area of the capital to be known as Chinatown was located in the Limehouse area of the city at the start of the 20th century.
