ICA to Present Sound Installation Suillakku

ICA to present sound installation Suillakku From October 13th until November 23rd this year London's Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) will present Suillakku, an immersive sound installation by Roberto Cuoghi.

People staying in cheap hotels in London will be able to experience the installation in the ICA's lower gallery, which will be filled with unusual sonic creations.

Italian artist Cuoghi took an imaginative journey to Mesopotamia in the sixth century BC to create his work, to a time when the Assyrian empire was falling into ruin.

Visitors to Suillakku will be able to hear Cuoghi's interpretation of the sound of hundreds of people at a time of suffering, inspired by the Assyrian lamentations to their gods.

To create the installation, the artist immersed himself in Assyrian culture for two years, drawing on his research and his imagination to create aural landscapes using a broad range of musical instruments.

People in London around the time of Halloween will be able to visit the ICA as it celebrates the occasion by screening films including Ring and hosting music and performance events.
