At first glance the festival may appear to be a celebration of cuisine from all over the world, but the city itself has plenty of cultural influences indelibly woven into its culinary fabric, with the Chinatown and Curry Mile (Rusholme) areas representing two parts of the city dominated by their ethnic eating traditions.

Running between the 5th and 15th of October 2007, the city shows off this variety in a vast number of stalls, restaurants and bars all over the Manchester area.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels can see a wide range of attractions around the city, from the mummies and fossils at the Manchester museum to the dynamics of modern cities in the Urbis Museum of the Modern City.
