It's the Ale Thing
Lovers of real ale may be lured by the scent of beer to Derby in July as the 30th Campaign for Real Ale festival takes place in the city.
Held from July 11th to the 15th, the event sees thousands of lovers of the traditionally brewed pint converge on the city to sup beers made in the time-honoured tradition, in preference to modern factory-brewed varieties.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Derby will be able to enjoy tasting a variety of pints, as well as finding out more about the pubs which serve them and how to get involved with the real ale movement.
In addition to the festival, visitors to Derby will be surprised by some of the interesting features of the city.
These include the second highest cathedral spire in the country and Derby Gaol Museum, which offers an insight into what conditions were like in days of yore for people incarcerated inside its walls.
