It's Yum Up North
Foodies looking for somewhere to go to sample delicious delicacies and culinary delights may not necessarily think of Lancashire, but there's more than hot pot and black pudding to the line-up at the tenth Lancashire Food Festival.
Held in Accrington Town Hall on April 21st and 22nd, the event does of course feature foods from the region, but also includes a wide range of international food, plus wine tasting, while local breweries also get in on the act and there is street entertainment to add to the atmosphere.
In addition to the festival, the mid-Lancashire area offers a wide range of things to see and do.
The beauty of the Trough of Bowland and the seaside fun of Blackpool are both close at hand, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks are easily reached.
Accrington and its neighbouring towns, such as Burnley, Blackburn and Preston, have plenty of accommodation, including cheap hotels.
