Lord of the Flies to Land in York
Theatre lovers planning stays in cheap hotels in York this September may want to time their trip to coincide with a run of the play Lord of the Flies.
This show will come to the York Theatre Royal from September 12th to 27th.
Adapted by Nigel Williams from William Golding's classic novel, Lord of the Flies begins with a plane crashing on an uninhabited island.
The story follows the disturbing changes in the boys' characters as they adapt to life in an environment with no schools, no adults and no rules.
This version of the tale has been a hit with critics, with the Guardian calling it "terrifying and exhilarating" and the Daily Telegraph describing it as "outstanding, unforgettable theatre".
Lord of the Flies will be followed at the Theatre Royal by the comedy Ladies Down Under, which will run from September 30th to October 4th.
