Marvel over Billy Connolly's Teapot
A silver teapot made for comedian Billy Connolly is among the exhibits at a new display that has been launched in Edinburgh.
An exhibition dedicated entirely to silver, in association with the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh, will feature more than 350 old and new examples of the precious metal.
Visitors will be able to learn the stories behind the pieces on show, including a communal drinking cup associated with Robert the Bruce.
Other highlights will include a metre-high, solid silver model of the Scott monument and a silver suit created for a flamboyant 17th century duke.
The finale of the exhibition will be a show called 'silver of the stars', which will feature contemporary silver pieces created for celebrities including Ewan McGregor, Sean Connery and Alexander McQueen.
People staying in cheap hotels in Edinburgh can find the Silver: Made in Scotland exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland until April 27th.
