Much Ado in the West End
For those who love a bit of high culture, it's still hard to beat Shakespeare, which makes the period between December 7th 2006 and March 24th 2007 a good time to visit London.
During this period, the Royal Shakespeare Company is performing a series of plays at the Novello Theatre at Aldwych in the West End, including Anthony and Cleopatra, Much Ado About Nothing and The Tempest.
Lovers of the bard's works can get tickets for the shows for prices between £38 for a midweek balcony seat up to £36 for a stall seat in the evening or on Saturday.
Apart from the acting out of famous plays, London's West End offers a huge variety of things to see and do for people staying in cheap hotels in the capital.
Nearby Covent Garden offers a range of stalls selling bric-a-brac plus street entertainment, while Buckingham Palace, the Tate Britain and Oxford Street are all close by.
The London Eye is just a short hop across the river.
